Pros

Good cafeteria and benefits; nice campus; some smart hard-working people around.

Cons

Unethical HVT leadership. The place is toxic and emotionally draining. Morale is low. They will do their best to masquerade the façade, lure you and then abuse you. Do your due diligence well, prior to joining the organization and working for your boss.

Inconsistent Managment Styles Across the Company

Pros

Good teamwork. Edwards has created a culture of teamwork where the sum of its parts is greater than any individual. I feel that everyone works well together, and while times can be hard, it is generally the characteristics of honestly, integrity, and generosity that shines to solve tough problems.

Cons

Management is extremely inconsistent. This is anecdotal, but I have known multiple individuals who will get raving End of Year Reviews under one manager, and then borderline concerning End of Year reviews under another manager. While this is probably not a shocking reality in any company, it certainly is something to be concerned of as an employee since one change of management could have ramifications to your career trajectory. Where I think Edwards does hold serious responsibility in this equation is their high emphasis on 'People Leaders'. It seems to result in a large sum of individuals going the 'People Leader' career track for the positive outcomes it will have on their own career, rather than pursuing it for the intrinsic reward of helping their direct reports grow and thrive.

Pros

Company wide there are alot of great resources: benefits, speakers, networking, employee resource groups, and some great, smart people who work here

Cons

Depends on your department, team, and business unit. The one I was in: toxic with a shame/blame culture top down. Teams within the department were siloed: lot of politics, favorites, secrecy, competition, very cutthroat. No sense of collaboration, zero empowerment or innovation, lack of support to fulfill tasks (recycling shame/blame spiral). Management doesn't really care about being good managers. Work culture: people stand back to watch you fail. Lip service given to career advancement and diversity and inclusion, but zero opportunity for career advancement if you are not personally favored by management. Rising upper/mid level management almost all white when I was there even though some colleagues who have done great work have been there for years. No sense of being valued or appreciated. Raises given were minimal after 2 years. Hostile bosses and managers with seniority are protected and never reprimanded. Old school management in this department has been there for a long time, so things are done the same way with no innovation. This department also refuses to allow remote or hybrid work. There seems to be a complete lack of trust in the employees from top down, which also makes you distrust what top management actually does. If you want to be in the "in" crowd in this department, you'll be expected to make your job your life, come in on weekends, with no work life balance. Other teams have better work life balance, but at the cost of not being favored, appreciated, or given extras. I took a 20% paycut to leave, and am so happy that I did, and wish I had done this way earlier.
