Pros

Campus amenities ESPP Cookies? Boot camp class?

Cons

Absent management in Finance and Accounting Politics Parking Work life balance Department is led by those who call themselves leaders but are very far from it. They take vacations at their convenience while their teams are left to accomplish what the "leaders" are paid to deliver on. Senior management is a joke. They get paid the big bucks to show their face and talk the talk but don't give a care in the world to the work we have to do to keep their stock options safe. The private talks behind closed doors are unnecessary and distracting. You'll notice it's always the people who talk but don't have much to show for it. Favoritism is big here. And with HR support that is only laughably existent, it's every man for himself. So much for the facade they put up about how much they care about their employees. Most days you'll be busy dusting off the tire marks on yourself from constantly being thrown under the bus. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Pros

Benefits, amazing campus (with gym and large subsidized cafe), and cool community building events

Cons

The company has no soul. Sr. Management throws down impossible "stretch" goals, resulting in overworked/demoralized staff and quick burnouts. Cut-throat attitudes, micro-managers galore, and people in management positions who should probably take a few management courses before overseeing a team. Don't be dazzled by the offer package. In return you'll be expected to be on call 24/7 (text, email, phone--kiss your free time goodbye), and work with thankless people.

Pros

You truly get the feeling that the company strives to innovate and develop products to benefit those suffering from structural heart disease. The pay is good, benefits are comprehensive, and work hours are relatively flexible.

Cons

I had a more positive feeling towards the company prior to the pandemic. As someone had previously mentioned, upper management is forcing all employees to go back on site, even while the US continues to see a huge surge in cases. Even though the campus is at 50% capacity with the new “safety” rules, that’s still more than two thousand people on campus. How can we feel like the company cares about the safety of its employees when we do not have a say in this? Some employees are required to be on site due to the nature of their work, so it makes that they are required to return. What about those who have shown the same, if not higher, level of productivity at home?

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are happy to hear that you find value in your work to impact patient lives and that you enjoy our company culture. In addition, thank you for sharing your feedback about our reintegration process. We want all our employees to know, that while we have made efforts to reintegrate employees onto campus at a capacity of 50% or fewer (to allow for physical distancing), we also continue to monitor the current situation and consult with trusted medical advisors, local clinicians, and authorities to update our learnings and guide our reintegration decisions. Ultimately, we want to ensure that we are taking the best steps possible to keep our employees safe. As such, we have implemented enhanced cleaning processes, require non-contact temperature screenings for anyone coming onto campus, and require employees to practice proper hand hygiene and physical distancing and to use face coverings. While we remain confident in our on-site evidence-based safety measures, we are constantly evaluating best approaches for continuing to keep our employees safe. Additionally, given the current environment, some schools starting virtually, and other needs, we have made changes to provide additional flexibility to support our employees and managers. We ask that you please connect with your manager to discuss what flexible options may be available to you and to learn how you can get in touch with one of our wellness ambassadors to ensure you feel safe while you’re on campus.
