Pros

There are great opportunities to progress at Farmfoods. Positions at Branch Manager level and above are only filled internally. Promotions are based on how willing you are to learn, how much potential you show and how you are performing in your current role rather than age or previous experience. Although the company is reasonably big it still feels small and you get to know loads of other people from different parts of the country and the people are all really friendly.

Cons

People are expected to work hard and pull their weight although that's not a bad thing, if you're looking for an easy job then Farmfoods is not for you.

Pros

The salary as a recent graduate was reasonable in the economical climate.

Cons

in-experienced management, lack of support from higher management, higher management unaware of the operation of several business systems, training programme lacking structure and innovation and lack the sheer courage to be honest.

Pros

15% staff discount, 6 weeks hoilday, bonusus for lots of different kpi's and hey even a bonus for just going to work. Any other retailer offer these? Yes you have to work hard but thats retail and A good manager can manage a Farmfoods store sucessfully efficiently and productively i have for over 10years and have traind all my staff according to the handbook and trainging moduals and many are now in managment roles or happy working as they are, labour turnover usually students moving on but with the correct structure this turnover is easily managed by hiring good honest, keen and people with a posative attiude... so i guess all you negative people leavine poor feedback either never believed in the values or how the store was run... yes a new manager learning the trade may work 50-60hrs i did for a while but soon got to working only what you are asked to work as a manager 45hrs/week through hard work, training and develooping your team. The company is still learing and improveing year upon year.

Cons

Ammount of stocktakes however most small supermarkets do weekly stock counts but not full store broken down into departments however if your results are good you count less poor results lead to recounts etc again team exercise and honest staff also help its not always no staff to catch shoplifters.... are searches being carried out?
