Pros

I was able to work remote

Cons

I feel great everyday that I am no longer employed at Fidelity. I have never worked for a firm that moved employees to a position that they have never applied for nor expressed a general interest in. Supervisors change all the time. After nearly 2 years I had 7 managers......not much reliability or consistency in training. I also did not see many women on the trading desks. It was very sad to see a company with a female CEO be so lacking in representation. Working with the Boston FI team was insane. The egos. At first working at Fidelity was wonderful. Benefits were amazing but when Fidelity came to the realization that management over hired? It was downhill from there. The process made me hate my job and how we were treated was awful. Managent are robots. Intentional. We know it works. Tell me more. If I hear these word salads again in my lifetime? I will be physically ill. The day I left and turned off my laptop? I never looked back again.

Pros

-Good culture and teammates -Strong benefits (7% 401k match, 12 weeks paid parental leave, good health insurance, 10% profit sharing) -Work from home options

Cons

-Between the change from hourly to salary 6 months ago and the absence of any additional bonuses that we used to get (holiday, tax season, retention), I make less money in my third year with the company than I ever did before. -When I was hired, I was sold a story of how quickly you can advance through the ranks of the Planning and Advice team, but they've all but stopped creating new positions to advance to -Metrics for how they measure performance on the sales side is bogus. Basically all sources of "sales credit" are self-reported by each rep and everyone (including managers) has their own interpretations of the policies, so the system rewards misrepresenting how you handle client conversations. -Fidelity laid off 700 people and I had to find out through the news, not through any kind of internal acknowledgment. They still haven't said anything to us internally.

Pros

UMR insurance is good and PTO is generous

Cons

I don't even know what to say or where to start. This call center prison has caused me to have to start taking depression medication and I get constant anxiety attacks and have mental break downs every week. This sad excuse of a company does not value their employees on the 401K WI side WHATSOEVER. We are the slaves and minions to their system, bottom of the totem pole and viewed as garbage employees who have to take main majority of ALL calls that come through. So we get ALL the grunt and BS for the lowest amount of pay, go figure. It's back to back calls with not even a 1 second break between calls, you have to follow your schedule down to the second or you "schedule adherence" will mess up, can't be under 88% out of a capped out 94% scale or you get in trouble. We are treated like children. We are so incredibly micromanaged to the point I want to get sick. Also, good luck going to the bathroom or God forbid you have children or an emergency while on the clock. The script we have to follow make us sound so robotic and saying that 50 times a day can drive one to insanity. Oh and they record every call and if you miss any important points in your script, well you pretty much fail. Anything below a 90% to Fidelity is a fail. Shame on this company. I can't WAIT for the day I can leave this place and never turn back. Just horrible! Never in my life have I worked for such a terrible company. I will be moving my assets and funds out of Fidelity when I leave.
