This is a call center. in disguise. The hours are long. While you can leave early every other day, if you are working with team members who do not leave at 4pm then it leaves you at a disadvantage. Every advisor is on a team but it really is every man for themselves. The company has mandatory training that doesn't actually help tenured employees attain new skills but rather revisits what they already know as a refresher for new and tenured employees. While it is a great idea to have refreshers, if you are not at your computer and on the phone, you are not making any money. The office environment is very open and loud. At peak times in the day, it is difficult to hear the "buyers" on the phone. The headphones that the company supplies are garbage. The company trains you to call, call, and call some more and even if you might mess something up, you will have to call the buyer back against your will even if it won't even change the outcome of the call. The company does have a lot of perks but they can sometimes be there to distract you from the long hours and redundant phone calls you have all day. The company doesn't sell products. This is a lead generation company and you are going to spend your days handling objections and trying to convert buyers to the idea that looking at more products, receiving phone calls, emails and even demonstrations from multiple vendors is more beneficial than the reason they visited the website. Sometimes managers will have advisors push leads through to the vendors even if it is not in the best interest of the buyer. Advisors who are typically top performers become managers with no real training given to these new managers. Some people that become managers do not know how to manage people at all which results in micromanaging. You will hear words like transparency all of the time and while the management team has tried to improve, they are still falling short with real transparency. The CEO, Austin is leaving soon and that is a shame because he has really matured in my time at the company, and became a real leader. The VP was in the office less than the CEO. The company does have a top down management style and needs to do a better job at making their employees feel valued. I watched over 30 people leave the company and while I don't know why everyone left, I can only imagine it had to do with inconsistencies with management and the long hours. This is a call center. There are NO bonuses for advisors. The company allows you to work to a title change which is meaningless. The job tends to rewards those who can stay at there desk the longest without taking breaks. The job creates robots and a last man standing type feel when people won't get up because they will miss a new opportunity. The atmosphere will feel like you are in high school with all of the politics and drama going around in the office. You will never close a deal. The fact that you won't close a deal can make it challenging to move into a mid-level sales positions outside of the company. Be weary of the OTE for year one.
