Pros

1. Great content & research - really thought provoking and inspiring. 2. The opportunity to drive innovation and strategy at the board level.

Cons

1. Management is a complete joke. Lacks all areas of solid leadership. No vision, no strategy, metric driven, poor office culture, no credibility 2. Highly political and fragmented service delivery team. Selling is one thing - getting the service teams moving is another war on its own. 3. Poor career opportunities. Only for the select clique an not based on true talent.

Pros

+ Bright, smart and driven people within Gartner + Gartner has a world-class brand name and opens a lot of doors to C-level executives + Strong sales culture, numbers talk

Cons

- Top management makes bad decisions on hiring the wrong middle managers. Often promotes people with numbers instead of making sure they are good people managers. - Benefits are non-existent (in particular outside US) - Gartner is growing, aggressively and quickly - which also creates more opportunities to make more errors, i.e. hiring the wrong individual for the wrong job.

Pros

autonomy, visibility, knowledge, Gartner analysts are the top of the analyst pile. Smart people with interesting backgrounds and a lack of fear to call things out when they see problems.

Cons

lots of red tape, difficult processes, increasing pressure on the "working" parts of the business (research) to carry the rest of the part that don't (events, sales, etc) places massive pressure to preforms, without commiserate compensation
