Pros

Good benefits and decent pay

Cons

Not a woman friendly company. Leadership and senior mgrs are majority male. Male managers openly berate female colleagues. I have on two occasions heard a male manager openly discredit two different female counterparts. As long as the males bring in the $$$ senior mgt looks the other way. Women are sent emails about their dress and what they should wear with no explanation or evidence that they were ever inappropriately dressed.

Gartner strives to maintain a productive workplace based on decency, dignity and mutual respect. This is why we prohibit discrimination and harassment, as well as behavior that creates a hostile, offensive or threatening work environment. This applies to all associates across all business units located around the world. There are no exceptions. We encourage you to contact your HR partner regarding the points you have raised in this review. Rest assured that Gartner does not tolerate retaliation against those who report such behavior or participate in a workplace investigation so long as they do so in good faith.

Pros

I love the people I work with, most of whom are holdovers from CEB and the merger in 2017. Our offices are nice and the benefits aren't bad. Good PTO

Cons

Gartner prioritizes revenue at all costs. They pay new employees with significantly less experience more, while expecting more tenured employees receiving lower while being responsible for, quite literally, 2-4x the work/revenue. I get the feeling at every turn that employees are expendable- lots of shadiness around commissions and bonuses, with you having to fight every step of the way to get money promised and owed. Management has no interested in career development or promotion and is only looking out for themselves and Gartner shareholders. Treated like children, requiring 30+ year olds with families to be in early/stay late/in the day after Christmas for arbitrary reasons. If you feel you have to force employees to be in early/late/over time they should be with their family in order to get the job done, perhaps you should invest in hiring better employees who are self starters.

Pros

Good benefits PTO policy Intelligent co-workers Good product

Cons

If you like metrics and a "what have you done for me lately" mentality, then this is the place for you. The metrics in place are not resulting in the retention of accounts and leadership is putting the blame on those busting their butts on the front lines. Call volume requirements have exploded in the last few years resulting in 6 hours of call time per day ( yes I tracked this over a month time span). They are now recording all calls for "quality assurance", which is really just a way for management to peep into your day to day. Big brother is always watching. Call coaching being conducted by management that hasn't taken a call in 5 years. In a few months the scheduling will be automated which leaves me wondering what differentiates this place from a call center? Dont be fooled in the hyped up interview process. The client success department is headed down a path that offers no autonamy, you are a number.
