The pay is acceptable for the work that you do.

Cons

As an AO you have limited opportunity to progress your career - you will still have to apply like anyone else for EO opportunities and interviews are conducted by GRS rather than senior management at your port. Shift times are rubbish and there is no good work-life balance.
