Pros

No pros, good company being ruined by bad managers

Cons

Engineers were all kicked off the VPN and told via Slack to sit tight. Soon a slack message was posted announcing the layoffs. Then each person laid off got a slack DM where their department head informed them of the layoff. At the conclusion of the call the laptops were remotely wiped and locked, and slack access terminated. All benefits incl. healthcare terminated now.

Pros

-Good salary -Snacks (mostly bagels) and some catered lunches -Friendly, hard working staff -Adjacent to a hip neighbourhood

Cons

-Relying on the fluffy perks to keep employees around rather than focusing on what actually makes them happy. -Lack of honesty in the interview pertaining to hours, training and vacation & holidays -No stability in terms of position, work station or hours -Very driven on employee numbers making them feels like lab rats with immediate results expected -Haywire and remote management meaning no problems can be dealt with in person, all issues must be relayed through many people with no real resolution -Extremely long and unnecessary recruitment process considering how quickly employees can be scrapped -Hard workers are exploited for all that they've got -This is not the start-up for you if you're looking to move up and get a real career within the company, do not fall for the start-up hype, you don't even meet the higher ups

Pros

Unlimited PTO, health insurance, WFH. The tech has potential if they would just listen to ideas without being so stubborn to adapt.

Cons

If you’re in market management, bless your heart. Working for Neta, Susan and Luca, who have no experience in hotels or pitching to hotels and have no idea what it takes to be successful in market management, have inexplicably been thrust into the most important positions in that department. They are tone deaf to what tools and products we need to be successful, they talk down to you like we’re the inept ones for asking questions, spew whatever idiotic idea Fred has told them to implement and they’re all terrified to admit to him or anyone else that they don’t know what they’re doing. Luca in particular has made many of the women cry on calls. They roll out new features for the app without consulting with the people with travel experience, only to have the product get pushed back in their faces by hotels unwilling to adapt to it, which is so wasteful of time and resources. The communication between departments is terrible, we always find out things only by snooping on the various slack channels that exist. Otherwise, it’s at launch that we find out what is going on at other verticals.
