Pros

The great breadth of the corporation allows for great flexibility in choosing from a wide variety jobs and locations to work. I think that as far as large companies go, I think that IBM tries to be a good corporate citizen. There is so much creativity and innovation occurring in research and development and I feel that permeates in some way thoughout the corporation. It is definitely not your father's IBM.

Cons

The same as for any large corporation... bureaucracy, lack of individual identity. It can be frustrating, as it can be for our clients, to navigate through the maze to connect with the appropriate person.

Pros

Work Life Balance, Opportunities and overall IBM Policies

Cons

Poor Management, especially HR. Absolutely no plan in deployment of resources across projects and no surety given for career development even though plans are in place. Reporting structure too is not well directed.

Pros

IBM is a good place to get your foot in the door and once you realize they are trying to stick you where the sun doesn't shine then come to terms and leave the joint.

Cons

In the division that I worked in downtown Tulsa, Business Consulting Services, management was extremely unoraganized, training was unheard of, and anyone you needed to contact for help was located in India and didn't know how to speak good English. Everything is micro-managed right down to the time you sit at your desk to the time you go on break. The yearly bonus was a joke and so was the pen & pencil set I received during the Christmas holiday. All of my overtime and extra effort put forth in many projects went unrecognized.
