Poor consulting practice particularly project management

Some projects are good and there're budgets for you to develop skills and certifications.

Cons

Poor work/life balance. Lots of micromanagement from the project managers in the consulting practice. Aggressive timeline puts employees on the edge of burnout all the time. 1% yoy salary increase does not keep up with the inflation. Probably one of the worst benefit packages in the consulting industry. Insurance won't cover 100% even if you opt in for the top plan. 1 month of parental leave salary top-up is ridiculous.

Pros

It has a fantastic culture, good projects, lots of autonomy, and a beautiful London office. Recently they've made a big effort to provide more training, which has been fantastic.

Cons

Very demoralising promotion process for very little financial reward. No bonuses. No reward for hard work, good performance or good client relationships. Senior leadership claims to care about us but rarely interacts with junior staff. There has been no meaningful increase in pay despite massive inflation. Tone-deaf management held a diary-busting champagne celebration for landing a big deal days after failing to promote over 50% of eligible candidates who made it to the final round. It felt a bit "let them eat cake" if I'm honest.
