Pros

Clients are great. Co-wokers too (if you can stay around long enough for them to know your name). Good product, there is a vision for a complete suite of procurement-related solutions that makes sense for larger organizations. The circle product logo is back, so that is cool. Not working there anymore.

Cons

Culture. There is no culture in the office unless you count turnover as culture. Lots of complaints on this site are real and true. They may be disgruntled, but they are real. HR is a hiring and firing machine and they engage only for the required workplace harassment video training. Product releases are not addressing needs of the current customers - enhancements are driven by biggest client looking to leave. There are no real partnerships - be it consultants, implementation, or with finance systems. Company does not maintain current stock of how to integrate with changes in ERP providers. Constant blaming of people no matter what department you are in (sales, demo team, client partners, etc.) is the norm. It is not about having thick skin, or moving at a fast pace, it is a CYA culture. If you have covered yourself and have leadership approval and things go poorly - be ready to get hit with the blame. Silos - can be defined here! There is no cross-departmental sharing - unless you have a relationship at a peer level do not expect VPs and management to have groups work together as they have directed their teams to "work their plan." Product name changes annually and sometimes mid-year. Too many "tools" to do your job are broken, poorly thought out and create more work for staff. Feedback is a gift that gets you fired.

Pros

The product suite was actually quite good and very few competitors are able to deliver as broad of an offering. The sales team that was assembled when I was there was top notch, but that didn't last very long. As a sales exec, I enjoyed the freedom offered to structure deals in multiple ways. The professional services team that did implementations was great but there were never enough of them.

Cons

Biggest issue was inability to deliver products and upgrades on time. Customers were left waiting years for promised functionality. The culture was very anti-sales in that corporate management was always looking for ways to not pay sales people on a transaction. CEO and CFO seemed to take great pleasure in humiliating sales teams during quarterly reviews and refused to take advice on what needed to be done to win more customers. Marketing was almost non-existent outside of the Higher Education market.

Pros

Their benefits are above the average

Cons

Sciquest has the worst management. The managers are lack of basic IT knowledge. They only can view their employees through reports. The company constantly lies to their employees. That makes all their talented employee left the company. All the reminders loss motivation. They also love to hold pointless meetings. You are not allowed to ask why in these meetings. Even if you asked, they will circling with you and to avoid to answer the critical part. They still claim they are transparent.
