Pros

Work/life balance is important but often abused leaving others holding the bag.

Cons

HR holds an iron fist over the entire organization. It's far more important to be political than talented. The place has a revolving door that spins at a blurring rate.

Feedback is an important part of our culture at SciQuest. It helps foster continuous improvement – which we are all about. Healthy work-life balance, smart and dedicated team members and their willingness to help others is consistent feedback we hear from our employees through formal and informal feedback tools. We listen carefully to all employee feedback, even when not everyone agrees, so we can learn from it and take action. Employee feedback has contributed to new programs including remote work arrangements, enhanced onboarding, community volunteer opportunities, career progression and on-going feedback focused on development to help ensure we retain high our performing team members. We invest in leadership development for our managers, who help drive a culture of accountability and continuous on-the-job learning for professional growth.

Pros

Now that I have been gone for a while, I can honestly say there is nothing I miss. While I was working there, I thought of some positive aspects to make myself make it through the day but they were an illusion I used to keep myself from being miserable. If zero stars were an option- I would have chosen that.

Cons

HR is awful, they use their power as a way to be mean to everyone and have very little interest in engaging with the others. They are a "clique" and if they decide they don't like you- life will be tough! Not the kind of open environment that an HR department should promote. In fact, they are more standoffish than any other department. You can't go to them with concerns. Management in general is awul, they do not know how to inspire people. In fact, working there is de-motivating. If you are an ambitious, hard working, motivated person, go far far away! This environment is designed for the "head down" robots that have no hopes for growth or education. The CEO is clueless- I wonder how anyone trusted him with this company? It seems like he's never even picked up the most basic leadership book. If he had, he would know that yelling and intimidating employees is the way to huge turnover. No inspiration, no growth, no direction, petty bs that reminded me of high school. STAY AWAY!!!!

Pros

There are none I can think of

Cons

Regarding any kind of senior role, one only has to meet the CEO for 15 minutes or attend one of his public appearances to know that this is no place to be. All I can think of is that the company must be printing money. Otherwise the Board of this firm would show the CEO the door in about 15 seconds.
