Don't fall for the hype

Pros

Decent Pay Good benefits for full time associates Paid for housing/accommodations during training New company, so there are opportunities for growth (don't count on it actually happening, though) Tasks are not necessarily difficult, you're just expected to take on amounts of tasks that just simply cannot be completed to their standards in a measly 5 hour shift.

Cons

Lack of Communication Work/life balance isn't actually there, despite what they tell you in training. Outdated technology and facilities in stores (Things are constantly breaking, malfunctioning or just outright not working) Denying breaks, while also claiming that it is "very important" to take all alotted breaks during your shift. Not allowing people to leave at their scheduled time. Basically, at this stage in the game, Lidl US is an HR nightmare, maybe someday they will figure things out but I won't be there to see it.

Pros

$15.00hr is it really worth it!

Cons

It would be nice if the labor Board would stand up for employee's rights when needed the most! I been around a lot of companies and all I have seen is them use people and spit them out like water...you can all try asking for help good luck to you! I been working for a company called lidl and they are fresh to the US While I have been there I have seen them use other employees to harass others so they don't have to get there hands dirty! I have also seen this company dig into peoples life's, true or not and go around to there doctors, schools and stir things up! I seen them short/ skimp pay checks to get people to quit. They don"t meet up with osha rules and regulations or Food Safety and the Law. If you like hit me up on facebook I have pictures! Anyways it would be nice to go back in the days where working hard and doing the right thing got you some where! Its not like I haven't tried, I hold there world record for the fastest picks in produce! But yet again they care nothing of that matter!

Pros

Pay is excellent Job is essentially easy when have no absence 10% discount Good holiday allowance Employee benefit portal very good (needs shouting about) Shift patterns allow for extra family time (when it fits to the business needs) Head of sales (KE) positive

Cons

Worst and most unorganised business I have been involved with, started well and exciting but quickly degraded. 17 senior management changes above me in last 18 months from area to national manager gives the business a very unstable feel and the change of ‘focus areas’ was a constant struggle. Managing a team when you couldn’t get a routine settled before it was changed again was very frustrating and tough As a store manager I felt let down by the logistical and operational side of the RDC, rarely a day went by without an issue. Causing unnecessary work and stress to rectify. Inventory loss is a massive focus and rightly so, only problem is the warehouse control is so poor you would be missing a pallet of drinks, clearly not in store as your section was empty but claim would be rejected by RDC anyway as ‘it was picked so must have been sent’. It likely was.. just not to the right store!! No support caused more issues between store management and distribution I would not recommend unless you get a new lovely shiny store and are prepared to constantly fight the politics and poor operation. Maybe other regions have better experiences. Northfleet was the poorest performing in the UK for a reason...
