Pros

1. In my area, there is a lot of funding to acquire new qualifications (Cloud related); 2. Great team-mates; 3. Decent Pension package (up to 15% of employer contribution)

Cons

1. Compensation: The compensation is not competitive, especially considering this is a bank and not a non-profit or green energy/environmental organization. 2. Bonus Disparity: During the COVID-19 pandemic, when the share price was around 20p, senior management received significant bonuses. In contrast, the rest of the staff did not receive any bonuses, despite the share price now having more than doubled. 3. Wage Gap: The bank promotes itself as socially responsible, yet there is a stark wage disparity. The salary ratio of CEO Charlie Nunn to a regular employee is 140:1, meaning for every £1 he earns, a regular employee makes only £0.007. 4. Cost of Living Support: The bank provided limited support during the Cost of Living crisis, offering £1,000 as assistance, which many found insufficient. 5. Work Culture: The workplace culture leans heavily on political correctness, which can be stifling for some employees. 6. Cultural Values: The company recently updated its core values to include inclusivity and sustainability . . . why?

Pros

Salary paid on time Fair pension contribution Free water, tea and instant coffee

Cons

Working for this company has been a deeply frustrating experience due to constant changes and a complete lack of clear direction from senior management. Decisions seem to be made without thought for long-term impact, and there’s little to no accountability at the top level. Cost-cutting measures are taken to an extreme, including offshoring critical roles, which is justified under the guise of “helping Britain prosper” and claims that there is no talent available in the UK. Ironically, these decisions come at the expense of highly skilled and experienced UK employees who are being made redundant. The company culture discourages questions or challenges, labeling any attempt to raise concerns as a “bad attitude.” Employees are expected to smile and conform to management’s whims, which creates a toxic and authoritarian environment. There’s no real job security here, and the constant turnover only worsens morale. Additionally, there is a disturbing trend of asking employees to post overly positive reviews to drown out the genuine negative feedback from those who are brave enough to speak out about the company’s shortcomings. This manipulative approach to managing its reputation speaks volumes about the lack of integrity within the organisation. Overall, it’s a company that has lost its way, treating its employees as disposable and prioritising short-term savings over long-term stability and trust.

Pros

Nothing. This company is a joke. Although the hiring manager was very apologetic for misselling the role.

Cons

I was just about to start my new role at Lloyds and was excited by all the benefits they were offering. I was really looking forward to meeting my team and getting stuck in on some new projects. However, the hiring manager called me to inform me that my ‘remote’ role will now include 2 days in the office and i’ll no longer have the opportunity to work compressed hours. No thanks. The only reason I accepted the role was to work remotely, as I don’t live near the office and I don’t want to waste my valuable time commuting. I’ve now retracted by offer and found a job elsewhere, offering exactly what they promised. I can’t believe such a huge company is going backwards. I feel so sorry for the people having these benefits taken away who’ve had them for years. Clearly this company doesn’t care about their employees. I’ve had a lucky escape.
