Pros

Coffee, tea, snacks, gourmet coffee.

Cons

DO NOT BELIEVE THE GOOD REVIEWS, AS THEY ASK ALL MANAGERS IN THE MANAGEMENT MEETINGS TO GO ONLINE AND WRITE GOOD REVIEWS ABOUT MELTWATER. Meltwater prepares a lot when "newbies" are coming for an interview or a "Meet Meltwater event". They give instructions to all the employees to look happy and smile, they turn up the music to make it look like a cool, work environment. Who ever is in the "Meet Meltwater" will introduce Meltwater and tell you there amazing success story there, and how you will be the next star. They will make sure you leave the event wanting to be part of Meltwater. IT'S NOT TRUE. About 2-3 people either get fired or resign from this place PER MONTH . They change employees like they change socks. TRUST ME DON'T WORK THERE. It's a place that runs on favoritism, culture of fear, and politics. They want everyone to be exactly the same, talk, act, respond, and think in the same way. They do not value individualism at all. I promise, you will regret it in a month or two. If you ask people currently working there, no one will dare tell you it's bad. I can go on and on about how bad this place is, but I will never be able to describe the horror in this place covered up with fake smiling faces and fake friendly environment. You will be in trouble for the smallest things, like arriving at 9:02am or not going out when they go out, it's worse than being in the military. They have ZERO management and mentorship skills. You become a manager just because you hit your target and you are your manager's favorite, not because you have what it takes to actually manage people. All the promotions and titles are fake, just to keep their favorites motivated, as they all do the same job starting from an SDR to an MD. The only difference is you will be telling people to pick up the phone, nothing more. PLEASE DON'T GO THERE. IT'S THE WORST THING YOU CAN DO TO YOURSELF.

Pros

- Great + fun people, lots of fun events and open bars - Lots of women in leadership - Company's future IT roadmap is extremely exciting but will make most salespeople redundant. The future is AI

Cons

- HUGE employee turnover (30%+ per year) so always new people - Lots of drama, gossip. Feels like a sorority house - No real perks, cannot compete with other "tech" companies - Some initial promotions in the first year but then stagnation for multiple years typically or "fake" titles - High-pressure sales tactics and borderline harassment of existing clients to buy more services in order to hide the ugly gross churn number

Thanks for your review. It's great to hear that you connected with your teammates and enjoyed our fun and social culture. High turnover is unfortunately common across the tech industry, but we've recently made changes to increase the opportunities and career paths available for our sales employees. With regard to our sales methodology-- it's been tried and tested over the past 15 years to propel our sales employees to success. But we understand it's not for everyone, and appreciate the feedback.

Pros

The opportunity to travel internationally. Working with people from all different walks of life due to international talent being hired within different regions. If your career is in Sales you can go extremely far in the company. Competitive salaries which essentially traps you. Fun environment: monthly dress-up parties and lots of opportunities to socialise.

Cons

Favouritism within the African region is high. If you are not part of the inner circle do not expect Management to invest in your career development at all. Management will create random roles to keep certain people but not blink an eye when others resign. There is a lot of company gossip which sets the tone for a very toxic environment. You will get pressured to go out and party, pressured to get crazy drunk on a weekday night but expected to be at work bright and early and execute your job at a high energy level. If you try and leave early (whether it is the office or a party) you are shamed and ostracized as someone who is not a team player or fully invested in the company culture. After hours in a club setting is seen as the best time to discuss career development so if you're not out partying you will never get promoted. There is a culture of "dirty" business which they are proud of because they hit their targets but the client suffers. There is no way for the client to get out of the contract because the Ts&Cs trap them, therefore they are obligated to pay for something they do not want. HR is not a neutral party that it should be. If you question anything they do or suggest a different way, especially if you came from another corporate company that follows the correct legal way, you are seen as not being on Meltwater's side or following "The Meltwater Way" and therefore against them which means you need to be forced out the company. Constructive dismal happens to many employees and when Management is asked why these people left they are deduced to having bad attitudes. Meltwater never takes the blame for what they do wrong and that is no room from them to grow/improve and that is their overall downfall as a company. If you are not ready to work for a cult-like culture then this is not for you.

Thank you for your review. At Meltwater we endeavor to create a culture of inclusivity and transparent feedback. Through feedback, teams are able to identify opportunities to grow and action those together. While we are sad at the timing - as the individual is no longer with Meltwater - we do however acknowledge and look forward to the opportunity to grow through this feedback.
