Some friendly coworkers, great benefits, beautiful campus

Cons

Cronyism is rampant. One manager went so far as to fly in a buddy from another state to complete a design review, rather than choosing someone local with similar experience. Azusa is an hour east of Los Angeles (Redondo Beach, El Segundo, etc) where a large number of Northrop employees work. I am a woman who was removed from a management position so that my boss could place his friend in the role. His best explanation was, "I don't know you." I had worked there for 3 years, but he was new to his role.

The products are worth working on. The pay was good.

Cons

All the good management has left the company. The technical capability has been diminished by the need to hire bodies, and to promote people before they should be (in order to retain them). Long hours with no appreciation .

The 401k match is good and they’ve been steadily hiring more people so the chance of a layoff is low

Cons

Some management is inept. There’s a lot of bickering between departments. Everyone seems to forget we all work for the same company. Benefits are bad. The healthcare plan options leave a lot to be desired. You don’t get sick days and you only get 2 weeks PTO as a new hire. The governor has declared a state of emergency and shut the roads down and the company still forced people to use their own vacation time.
