Pros

This is a great place to build your career – there is fast professional growth at the company, but it’s more forced upon you rather than encouraged. There are some really admirable and amazing people who work here, which makes supporting the company’s mission more exciting. The 9/80 work schedule is also a great perk.

Cons

If you like playing corporate politics and having zero work-life balance, then Northrop Grumman is for you! Expect constant changes in organizational structure with no guidance from leadership (who preach collaboration across the org, yet they never involve necessary POCs in their own strategic planning), and a revolving door of new employees who quickly realize the poor work environment they signed up for. Executive leadership is resistant to critical feedback that’s essential in an enterprise’s performance review, and is extremely slow in making necessary changes. They encourage people to move laterally within the company as they say it’s a way to learn more about the business, but it’s only to hide the fact that they rarely promote their hard-working employees. There’s a reason why the Comms org continues to lose dedicated and talented employees – and it will continue to do so until there’s accountability being held at the executive-level.

Pros

I would say benefits, so if you die AT WORK, your family might be taken care of.

Cons

People have DIED AT WORK at our Bacchus facility, and the company response is callous, cold-hearted, and the most traumatic experience I have ever had at work. Management refuses to say who died, while they have an offsite for two days talking about who died, what they were like, and who their families were. They have made grieving a class issue so that only management gets to go to the viewing, talk about who died, or take time off. Employees are fully expected to continue working as normal and we're pressured to just suck it up. This company does not care if you die. We've also had multiple contractor deaths, which they don't talk about. Also, multiple safety issues. Also, an overall toxic, misogynistic, racist culture. Pretty much the worst, most abusive, exploitive, toxic place I have ever worked. Save yourself your sanity. You might not make it out alive. No job is worth that.

Pros

- very flexible work schedules, Fridays are very slow and relaxed which is nice - remote positions are available - great diversity and a lot of women in leadership positions - Room for creativity and new innovations but rarely resources and buy-in to make them happen. - no unlimited PTO BUT flexible work arrangements and 9/80 schedules allow for hours to be met up front and long weekends without using your PTO - very friendly environment and overall a positive work-environment

Cons

- outdated pay scale and inconsistent pay per title between sectors and individuals within the same position - unspoken understanding that you have to leave the company to get a pay bump - promotion/compensation bonuses are entirely subjective depending on your relationship with your manager - outdated hierarchical model/org structure - the company preaches agile but not known to "flip the org chart" as business owners/executives opinions/ subjectivity influence and dictate new features and innovations in programs that are not directly involved with external customers.
