Pros

I have made some very good friends here

Cons

Everything else. Please beware of glowing reviews. The company has asked managers to write good reviews here in exchange for being in a raffle! They know exactly how bad their ratings are and why.

Want perfection, but not willing to pay for it.

Pros

-- Work from home, but keep in mind that you buy your own computer & peripherals and, in my case, pay extra for boosted high-speed internet to support the software platform. -- Pay direct deposited on time. -- Shift differential.

Cons

-- Poor audio quality for ESL and Americans alike. -- PTO policy change so no longer can carry over hours. If you like taking a weeklong vacation in Jan, Feb or Mar, forget about it. -- MLS is penalized if, post audit, QA can fill in a blank you left. This is particularly unfair as numbers can be difficult to distinguish with the poor audio, but QA may have access to a another report for the same patient with the number clearly stated. Ding! My quality percentage goes down 0.25. -- The pay grid, which *could* be a positive thing, is undermined by so many factors: QA/blank submission rate over 5% = pay reduction; blanks filled in by QA = pay reduction; under 200 lph edited = pay reduction. Seeing a pattern here?

Pros

Working at Home that is it!

Cons

Management is very poor. Communication is bad. Audio is very poor. Accuracy is not valued. Employees are paid very poorly. Reviewers of work little knowledge of medical transcription. Although incorrectly transcribed, if someone decides it is the "right way to type it" you are expected to type it that way even though you know it is incorrect,. The speed and production rate Nuance expects is totally unrealistic as you have to send copy to correct physicians, proof read reports and because the audio is extremely poor even with native English-speaking physicians, unless you do not care, you need to go over it carefully to ensure accuracy!
