Pros

Good benefits, good pay, flexible work environment I like my boss, who looks out for my best interests, and I like and respect my coworkers.

Cons

Oracle does “prune” layoffs, on a regular basis. They have profit/cost down to a science. These are not bottom-ten-percent cuts - these are purely how-much-profit-can-we-squeeze, and often good people get let go — rather than re-homed into other positions in the company.

The company is sane and stable, the benefits are reasonable and with hard work and ingenuity you can progress. Middle management are mostly reasonable individuals.

Cons

Very slow culture, which I think they are trying to change. Too many levels of stratification which can result in slow changes and difficulties in progressing.
