Pros

Working at PwC helped me build technical skills quickly. The name carries weight on a resume, and I appreciated the formal training early on.

Cons

As an Audit Associate at PwC, I experienced one of the most grueling work environments of my career. The busy season is relentless — you’re expected to completely sacrifice your personal life for nearly four months out of the year. Late nights until 2–3 AM are not uncommon, and weekends are often treated as regular workdays. What made the experience worse was the lack of support from senior team members and management. Rather than fostering a collaborative environment, seniors and managers frequently overloaded associates with excessive tasks while providing minimal guidance. When help was offered, it often came with condescending attitudes, dismissive remarks, or outright belittling. There was little to no regard for employee well-being. Despite putting in long hours and significant effort, I was laid off after two years with little explanation or appreciation for the sacrifices I made. Overall, my time at PwC left me burned out and disillusioned. I would not recommend this role to anyone who values work-life balance, a supportive team, or long-term career growth.

Pros

- if you like living a short and fast life, then audit is the way to go - a lot of opportunities to step up and outshine your peers (gets you slightly higher bonus and better chances for a promotion if you're due) - flexibility in working hours (but comes at a really big cost - no fixed working hours)

Cons

- preaches about work-life balance but no actual practice (in fact, you attract negative attention from managers/seniors if you do practice it) - most managers pride themselves on their long working hours - i have lost count the number of times my managers has told me "time management" when it comes to juggling multiple jobs and part-time studies

Pros

Flexible working, solid benefits, decent office location, pay well over the odds for equivalent roles in other organisations. Talk a lot about diversity and inclusion, and seem to mean it (though not enough to ditch the government of Saudi Arabia as a client...)

Cons

Partnership structure and regular 4-year leadership changes leads to strategic chaos, limited vision, fragmentation, and long periods of lame duck lack of direction as new leaders bed in. Also excessively hierarchical and deeply patronising - anyone below senior manager level is effectively treated like an intern. Senior managers are treated like first jobbers. Directors are treated like middle managers. Unless you're a partner, no one seems to care about your actual experience / expertise - and most partners are too out of touch to have relevant expertise, so talk in platitudes. The only reason anyone puts up with it is the pay is good.
