joke of a company. i was hired as a technical support advisor for sage. In the interview they mentioned we would be expected to spot opportunities and spot if the customer could benefit from another product we have/ training. no hard selling. this was a lie, sales are the thing they’re most bothered about. they have a sales team but expect technical support to sell on every call and have now gave them sales targets! if you dont hit these sales targets you get put on a coaching plan (which are rubbish and no help) and if you still dont hit you get 2 warnings then you’re sacked. disgusting company who mislead you in the interview then throw you to the gutter. every employee thinks this. if you’re thinking about applying here dont for your own sanity!

Horrible Culture and Dysfunctional Leadership

Pay attention to the negative reviews - They are telling the truth about the 'true' culture and leadership of Sage. The fake positive reviews are being driven by the company trying to improve their Glassdoor ratings compared to their competitors, rather than fixing the root causes of the horrible culture and dysfunctional leadership. There's no true strategy for the company. It's like throwing spaghetti against a wall to see which strategy will work in each of the regions. They are in financial trouble now because they don't know how to properly manage their revenue and expenses, so they overspend without ensuring they have enough money to cover costs. In desperation with their stock price plummeting to the lowest it's ever been in the history's company, they are firing as many as people as they can to make sure the end of the year financial goals are met in September. They don't care about employees and use the performance management process to put as many people on Performance Improvement Plans to eventually fire them. This happens frequently throughout the year. The culture is heartless and very stressful with many employees going on medical leave (if they don't leave first) because of the toxic culture. It's a poisonous company - Seriously, stay away!!!

Company has a great reputation, product and working facilities.

Cons

Disorganised sales strategy and business planning process. Amateur finance processes and systems (ironically). Overpromising to board and investors, resulting in underperformance despite positive growth against last year. Leadership does not care about staff - happy to sack people to achieve their bonus targets. Senior global sales leaders lead by shouting 'sell more' with no vision on how to do it. Confused, disorganised, overworked and staff under the constant fear or being performance managed out or made redundant by the thousands.
