Pros

Good people who sincerely want to perform well and deliver what is required.

Cons

Understaffed and overworked. Poor work life balance. Leadership who doesn't take the time to understand the company and the challenges from the ground up perspective and is not brave enough to point out the multiple issues.

The place is a sinking ship

Pros

The people make going to work desirable. While working at Sage I worked with some of the best colleagues. Even with the morale being low due to the constant leadership changes and change of direction the people I worked with made it worth showing up. The pay is also above market value which was great!

Cons

This place is a sinking ship and I wish I had read the glass door reviews before I accepted my offer. There are always constant layoffs so expect to be on the chopping block when there is a new revenue cycle. With so many layoffs your work direction constantly changes so it’s hard to be strategic. You’ll feel like you are continuing to run a race without a rest break to improve your next run. They promise you promotions and bonuses but don’t count on those because they are tied to revenue performance. The company as a whole isn’t generating enough of a return to guarantee that because they have a brand awareness issues in North America. Also performance reviews are held on a bell curve. Which means on a team of two one person will be ranked exceeds and one person will be ranked needs improvement. Sage isn’t a place where you can move up in your career. You rarely see colleagues advance in their career. The average career cycle is three years. Employees like myself are leaving in droves because they want to move up.

A Snake Pit

Pros

Good pay; flexible work arrangements

Cons

It's a top-down, kick-down culture where everyone gets blamed for management's failures. If you're not hiding, you're getting shoved under the bus. Twice a year, they cull the staff to make their numbers. Only clerical worker bees are safe.
