Pros

good perks, good benefits, rsu’s and the stock price is rising rapidly. the founder institutionalized a culture where engineers are respected but unfortunately that’s being chipped away since he left.

Cons

non technical managers for engineering teams. managers and tech leads that steal credit for other people’s work. many coworkers that do not produce work or produce work at extremely low quality and leave their messes for someone else to fix. 15 year old codebase which is held together by patch on top of patch on top of patch. no embrace of continuous integration. too many old timers who are afraid that CI and test automation will replace their jobs. lots of politics.

An odd place for sure...

Pros

In short, customers love the company. The technology is over a decade old, but it addresses a pain point they have. Stock is doing well.

Cons

I can't speak to the new leadership, but the old one was reminiscent of Apple. Controlling and dictatorial. People constantly worried about their job. People disappearing without warning. Not a great place to be if you are looking for peace of mind.

Pros

Great product, great field-level people, and great product development engineering team. Fred Luddy is still a huge role-model!

Cons

Zero work-life balance. Lack of customer-facing collateral; always have to create new from scratch. Management all brought in from outside - no growth opportunities from field-level employees who KNOW the business first-hand. No consideration for Professional Services employees - managements solution to everything was to throw warm bodies at the problem.
