Pros

+ Excellent European telecom credentials (top 3 in the world) + Industry-leading clients (Vodafone, Telefonica for example) + Great exit opps. + Fantastic work ethic of the team + Senior team has excellent technical backgrounds + Collegiate work environment amongst juniors

Cons

- Notorious for long hours - VPs can be very controlling - Associates can be stuck doing analyst work for years - Hierarchical - junior/senior relationships need work - Excessive / superfluous analytical work at times (especially in the context of marketing books) - Some senior team members are difficult to work with / poor at inspiring/leading juniors

Great place to work - until you get laid off.

Pros

Great benefits, competitive pay, inclusive and diverse atmosphere.

Cons

If you work in IT management, you know that you are never more than a heartbeat away from a layoff and the layoffs do not seem tied to overall company performance or personal performance.

Pros

UBS is still a famous name in the banking world, and gives great development opportunities, that will enable you to grow very fast. It has the best work-life balance of all companies where I worked for

Cons

Your job is not secure anymore. UBS is working on a major project to nearshore or outsource some activities to countries like Poland, where there is massive hiring. If you are Polish, I would say : go ahead... You have a great and interesting future ahead of you If not, you might end up with colleagues who live in stress and fear of loosing their job. The administrative burden has also exploded in the recent years, so if you like to get things done the quick and dirty way, maybe better not work in a bank...
