Pros

Great technologies but generally bogged down in "perfect" technical solutions rather than actual

Cons

Mangled with over engineering to the point of being useless.

Pros

In the business aligned technology groups there are a lot of really bright people working on a wide range of projects using a wide range of technologies. Within IT at least, there is excellent work life balance and a strong collaborative culture, which helps make working that bit more enjoyable.

Cons

As a bank, the IT function is huge, so you do get the feeling of being a small fish in a huge sea. Whilst communication and teamwork within the immediate group is good, it can often be hard to see the bigger picture, and cross-division collaboration can be painful. Plus given that UBS was formed through a series of mergers, there is a lot of legacy stuff lurking around.

Pros

If you like being lazy and incompetent, you'll fit right in.

Cons

Awful managers, ancient technologies, a love of mainframes. Really not many positives. Most talented people are leaving as soon as they can. The pay is below market value.
