Pros

Pay at the international civil servant level is solid. Benefits are good. Generous 6 weeks of vacation. Depending on where you work, the hours may be family friendly.

Cons

Poor culture. Non-performers are tolerated. Few are enthusiastic about what they do. When you do more, you pick up the slack of others instead of advancing the good cause. Presence of energy suckers and indifferent brass lowers morale.

Pros

Good compensation, excellent if you are an international staff. Unmatched benefits. They pay 2/3rds for your kids university. Double your pension contribution after being there a while. Unmatched work life balance. You work 40 hours and get paid well for it.

Cons

Highly inefficient. Depending on the department, there is a serious lack of quality in personnel. Bureaucratic and boring. Cannot really measure impact of work.
