Pros

Great company to work for. They offer the great benefits of any Silicon Valley-based org and deliver a world class solution that solves real business problems. You will learn a lot about the human capital market and get a chance to support clients across all departments; marketing, customer service, finance, IT, HR, etc. The events and office are all top notch. Made a lot of great accommodations during COVID and put their employees first. Offers career growth and leaders that are willing to help.

Cons

Not necessarily a con, but be aware the first thing you are selling (in most instances) is the value independent freelancers and agencies bring to a business then selling why Upwork is the best solution to support that new strategy. For a majority of companies, large-scale independent workforce strategies are still a new concept so if you are coming from a SaaS company that had a more traditional offering with a transactional sales-cycle expect it taking time to learn.

Sales culture needs to change

Great co workers to work with Amazing CEO

Cons

It pains me to write this because I have had wonderful sales managers while working here. Unfortunately, I can not say the same for executive sales leadership. While the company as a whole has fantastic values and care for people, unfortunately the sales org does not. The way the sales org is run needs to change.

Pros

Upwork is a great place to make money and be at the front of the staffing industry. They are building an incredible platform to help company's be successful! I would recommend all business leaders to engage with Upwork.

Cons

The Executive Sales leaders need to go! They are bringing the same poor culture from the same company everyone use to work for. They've had their chance and nothing seems to be working with getting new clients. They need to act faster before we loose to our competitors. The HR and Sales leaders have built an organization that doesn't foster growth or career advancement. We continue to take steps back!
