Pros

Great discount with my waitrose card and partner card. Partner Bonus is also good. If you have a good DM the rest of management are good and more relaxed.

Cons

Rigid policies and procedures. Management not always in sync. Holidays often rejected even if given months notice. Having to constantly monitor timecard online. Having to look busy if nothing to do. Being forced to work on other sections you did not apply for!

Pros

Discount Elderly customers Good banter in the warehouse with colleagues.

Cons

Overworked, overstretched. Too many money saving methods implemented. I work full time hours but nobody gets contracted full time as of the last few years (people on old contracts from back in the day still get full holidays, sick pay ect). It means I can't take a proper holiday without becoming completely skint. The company seems to rely on mainly students/people who still live with their parents. It doesn't care about the people who have life experience and actually want to do a good job. Some of my colleagues (and customers) can be a bit "small town mentality" even though it's still a london branch... A bit traditional/old fashioned in men and women (not overly but I sense I'm seen as slightly lesser able as a woman to do a job good for some reason.) Although it is good I'm seeing more women in management roles. Super bright white lights. It used to be a more yellow type of light. Now I struggle to sleep at night. Varying working hours - sometimes I will have to work 12.30-9.30pm then the following day is 9am-6pm. I don't have a very good work life balance here...I basically cant do anything social during the week, and I can't sleep well because it's a stressful environment to work in. Noisy.

Pros

Delegated responsibility, good pay progressive structure, good training, great morale, great experience overall, good benefits.

Cons

New management thought they owned the place when they walked in the door, changed selling and operational methods leading to a downturn in results, oblivious that it was their fault.
