Pros

Colleagues and staff discount, high turn over so you get to meet loads of people

Cons

They advertise a working pattern eg. everyother weekend, day time only, but dont stick to this. Youre guilted into working hours you specified you could do because of commitments (like child care) They also have a 'modern waitrose' system where staff are moved to new departments every 6 months - on paper this is great but it meant poor and sped through training, Often having to cover departments you've never worked on. (i had to work in the staff canteen despite not being able to cook???) No work life balance at all. Starting salary based on how well you did in your interview not based on experience. Was threatened with disciplinary when i queered why my salary was the lowest out of my collegues who had the same experience and did the same job. When i worked there they put a VEGAN on the meat and fish counter???!!
