Pros

Family like business, great staff trying to pull together to deliver stuff. Still seen as leading retailer which is good point of difference

Cons

Tough Market / cost cutting and working harder for less reward. Competition catching up and in cases over taking so customers have greater choice of where to shop so where is the point of difference. Empty shelves, ave FRV and sandwich range, looking tired

Pros

Staff shopping is always a bonus. The 25% discount at John Lewis is great and there is always plenty of opportunity to work extra hours if you want them

Cons

If you like a lot of strict rules being used and no appreciation terrible pay lots of snitching this is the place for you

Pros

The work is simple and the company has a decent ethos that rubs off onto the staff making it a pleasant place to work.

Cons

The new 'direction' of the business might not be for everyone. There's a huge amount of responsibility being taken away from managers and placed in the hands of the staff. Even part-timers.
