Pros

You will get some experience, but it won’t be on the most up to date systems.

Cons

The systems are old. Upper management doesn’t care about or listen to the employees. So many unnecessary and unproductive reorganizations resulting in mass confusion. The return to office and hubs has resulted in many tenured and knowledgeable employees leaving. You don’t get an assigned work spot so it’s a free for all at work sites. The pay raises are tiny (unless you’re an executive in which case they are huge). Simply put, it’s all talk, no substance and you are simply a number to them.

Pros

- pay packages can be good - nice building with convenient location in London - hybrid working policy

Cons

- absolutely no opportunities to develop your career in London - the London office is seen as a “nuisance” strategically. All decision making happens in the US - disorganised operating model where you cannot be a manager unless you have a team of 7. This does not work for a small regional office such as the one on London. - poor image and constant regulatory issues - abysmal IT systems - overly bureaucratic policies - unwillingness to change anything at the bank - some senior management are “part of the furniture” and lack motivation to improve things
