Pros

The benefits and salary are competitive. HR cares about building a benefit package that emphasizes work-life balance. If you work hard, you are recognized for it (in terms of pay, and in terms of respect from coworkers and management). Sabbatical program is great (4wks every 4 years). Willing to invest in innovative ideas. Flat hierarchy and lean workforce mentality mean your contributions are needed and appreciated, and your inputs are respected. Full of really good people who are passionate about what they do. Much less variance in experience between teams than some of the giants (e.g. Amazon, Microsoft). A dynamic environment from a company that is always listening to feedback and always willing to change. If they don't get it right the first time, they will listen to you and change. New programs constantly popping up to improve employee experience. As a woman in engineering, the company has been doing good work trying to increase support for its women. I feel they have the right attitudes and are promoting the right kind of policies & thinking. More to be done, but off to a great start and working hard to keep improving.

Cons

Still a few growing pains. We used to be a lot smaller and are growing quite fast, so some of our systems (in IT, HR, etc) might not be as polished yet as bigger companies. For example internal documentation is sometimes not as organized across the intranet as it could be. But they are working on it!

Firstly, thank you for your service at Arm. The majority of the reviews on Glassdoor have been positive but we appreciate that not everyone will have the same experience! That said, the experience you describe is not one I have heard of during my time here at Arm and so I would love to address a few concerns. To your comment on the management teams, with no/limited knowledge from Management, we recently restructured the organization in to two distinct groups: IPG and the subsequent lines of business, which focuses on the licenses technology we provide to semiconductor companies and ISG the IoT Services Group, which operates security and management services for connected devices. We did this so as to focus on growing the business to reach our desired goal of having 1 trillion connected devices in the next 20 years. We have a lot of growth ahead of us, with the separation allowing us focus on growing the businesses independently of each other without the need to report to shareholders and we appreciate that this is a big time of change for all of our employees. We’ve also recently introduced the core beliefs for leaders to guide our leadership teams on how they can inspire and manage their teams aligned with our culture and values. You also mentioned about work life balance which is something we are rated highly consistently by our employees on Glassdoor! To ensure we are providing not only work-life balance but a flexible working environment, we are carrying out flexible working pilots across our different groups but also ensuring that our management teams are equipped to have conversations with their individual team members and find a flexible working plan that works best for that individual – whether that’s working from home, changing hours to adjust around child care or condensing their working week. Thanks for leaving a review! We're proud of having some of the brightest people in the industry and place a lot of value on continuing to grow their technical skills. The Reward team reviews salaries on an annual basis against market trends, and adjusts as necessary. Once you factor in the bonuses and launch award, the total compensation package is quite competitive. We hope to see you back at ARM again some time! -Rick C. Social Recruiting Manager
