Pros

Best Buy required no previous sales experience and there was no pressure to get sales by commission. Over the course of 2.5 years I became an expert on everything there is to know in the store, and I became a great salesman.

Cons

Over time, the store became less about customer experience and more about metrics. This lead to worse customer experiences, such as offering a credit card application to customers when it didn't fit the solutions they came in seeking. I have a theory that this has to do with the CEO change after Hubert Joly.

- Extremely generous employee discount - One of the best places to learn people skills and time management - Vendors and Brands allocate both funds and assets to increase the look and feel of stores.

Cons

Labor is based on previous performance metrics from past months, meaning that in some cases, one employee can experience working an area of a shift that normally would be manned by at least three individuals. - Reorganizations every 2-3 years mean that job security is pretty low regardless of performance, - Corporate can be unorganized and uncommunicative when procedures change. - Lower revenue stores get left behind regarding updates and remodels, which contradicts the corporate model of having a uniform look and feel for all locations.
