Pros

-Good product with tons of potential - it's an easy sell due to all the marketing and hypergrowth the company has had as Austria's "unicorn"; you'll get to gain experience in the crypto field, or in one of the leading startups in Europe. -Good start for anyone looking to get experience at a super fast paced company, with constant challenges. -You'll have a chance to work in a team, and work autonomously.

Cons

- Top to bottom management culture where there is little to no regard for their employees. -Little to no career progression/direction; lack of organization, transparency, and overall standardization across all departments/teams when it comes to how they measure their employees; very biased methodology in how and who they hire/fire and/or promote. -Company does not adhere to its own values- there is very little to no investment in their employees/teams. - Changes are frequent - be ready to switch gears at any moment, and often. - Employee retention is awful; turnover is ongoing beyond the typical scale-up. They expect you to work at least 50+ hours a week as it is an All-In contract; compensation is lacking and so are the overall benefits.

With our Slack company announcements channels and frequent global Town Halls, we aim to ensure that all folks are aligned to what we’re doing and where we’re going as a company — on-time and as close to “in the moment” as possible. The runway of our industry is endless and therefore, we believe our Pandas are in the best position to own their careers and really create their own path. To help guide them on this journey, we’ve introduced a completely new talent strategy which comprises of monthly 30:30 growth conversations, calibrated people days, and robust 360-degree review periods — all underpinned by Radical Candor feedback. We are very proud of our ability to attract and retain the best of the best to Team Bitpanda. We do this through a myriad of Total Rewards efforts which are guided by our Pay for Impact philosophy. This means that the more impact a Panda makes, the higher the earning potential. We always look at skills, experience level, and industry knowledge when compiling individual compensation packages, and we keep a pulse on our high-performing talent who raise the bar. Compensation adjustments are done once per year at the end of each calendar year. This means we review your impact and your package in December with any changes made coming into effect as per January 1st of the next year. Pros

Good company to have on your resume if early in your career. Solid tech stack & mostly friendly young coworkers. Great reputation if you’re passionate about investing/blockchain.

Cons

Zero career progression. Most mid-senior level positions are filled by external hires regardless of your performance. Many departments are very dysfunctional & suffer from high employee turnover, poor communication, and overly corporate/hierarchical processes. Salaries & benefits are not competitive for the industry and company size. Not very flexible with remote work or relocation despite having multiple hubs/offices. Vienna office lost its appeal due to extreme covid restrictions.

As you mentioned, we are very proud of our reputation as we turn the world of investment upside down — led by the best of the best: our Pandas! At Bitpanda, it is a top priority that our team members are rewarded for their impact and have the chance to develop. We believe that our salaries are competitive in the current market and are dedicated to everyone having the opportunity to create their own path. Recently we hired a rewards leader who is evaluating our compensation/benefits across the business and they will keep them competitive as we scale at an astonishing rate (600+ and counting). This month our teams will receive invitations for impact conversations with their manager to kick off the New Year. We also really miss seeing our Pandas in their “natural environment,” and we know how important it is to be flexible. That’s why we’ve removed traditional core working hours and introduced a new Hybrid Working model. This gives our team members the flexibility to split their time equally between their home and local talent hub. Unfortunately, though, we can’t control the COVID situation, and we are dedicated to keeping everyone safe and healthy at Bitpanda!
