I was at Capita for 7 years. But the last 4 were the worst. They have zero interest in advancing anyone that isn't already in a management position. The people they promote to leadership are usual incapable and underexperienced/qualified for the positions. Typically, they just promoted their friends. Training courses are provided almost never and they try everything in their power to prevent paying a bonus to anyone. The salary is grossly under market average (other than management and leadership). A senior manager once said to me (while a little tipsy at a work do, "I know how to play the game"). Says it all really.

Sadly the company has become a victim of it's own 'success' over recent years. The new Board are attempting to turn the company around and instill a new culture. However, it soon becomes clear that none of this new strategy filters through the company. I've seen colleagues in tears from the diabolical management, selected favouritism, a complete lack of empathy and poor treatment that sometimes can only be described as psychological bullying. I fear for the company as a going concern, but suspect it will survive, but a lot smaller after more badly managed and ruthless headcount reduction.
