Pros

10 % discount on shopping

Cons

Always being short staffed Management at almost every store is rude and corrupted Avoid paying you money you're owed. Not able to complete tasks you're given because there are not enough hours for store Having to work until 11 pm most nights isn't something I enjoy especially when you don't get paid for a time after 10 pm

Pros

Regular pay, paid holidays and free uniform, colleagues that have become friends good health and safety record can see wages online and hours worked.

Cons

1 30 minute break in 8 hours, If we go over our targets we don't get paid any extra or get any extra breaks, but if you don't reach it you get chastised and made to feel like a criminal. Work most weekends have 1 off in eight . Management who tell us to reach our targets got there by being suck ups and would probably be sacked if they had to do our jobs. Not even a thank you or finish early on last day before break up for Christmas no bonus or a penny sweet.

Thankyou for your review. I'm sorry to hear you are not enjoying your job at our Co-op and would not recommend it to others. Regarding your breaks, if you are not getting the legal requirement please raise this immediately with HR as this should not be happening in your team. Again if you're not happy with your contracted hours or the overtime you are taking on please raise this with your manager so this can be looked into. Regarding reward and recognition, we have a dedicated #BeingCoop programme on this, which you can find out more about here https://colleagues.coop.co.uk/working-here/thank-you-for-being-co-op ^Catherine

Pros

People you work with are amazing overall

Cons

Work life balance, Bassically there is none if u want to work 50h + weeks only be paid 39 and on a low job this is the place for u. They under staff the stores purposely making it impossible to complete all the task they say need to be done affecting customer service and availability in stores. No reward and recognition for the hard work u do, don’t care about staff security unless u are in head office. Staff are generally demoralised and over worked.

Thankyou for your review. I'm sorry to hear that you do not enjoy your job and would not recommend it to others. I'm concerned to hear about your claims that you are working over time and not being paid for it and ask that you raise this with HR immediately because this should not be happening in your team. Regarding not having time to complete tasks, you may be interested in learning more about our Leading the Way programme which food colleagues and Co-op Digital are working on which helps simplify tasks for colleagues making work life easier day to day.
