Pros

Flexible hours, good entry-way for getting experience in a corporate setting, and there are a lot of areas to influence positive change.

Cons

Tools and processes can feel dated. Dated mindsets. Company’s branding and product seems inferior and less excited compared to others in the market. False/pretentious statements from management.

Pros

The Cherrywood campus is great, if a bit remote. Plenty of parking, with a gym nearby (though not subsidized). Great way to get your foot in the door of tech sales. Some truly great people work here. People always willing to lend a helping hand. Relaxed sales environment. Very lax attitude towards hitting targets and KPI's.

Cons

Worst paying tech sales job in the whole of Dublin. I'm not exaggerating. Over half a decade there and my salary was worse than entry paying sales jobs in companies like Salesforce. Very little in the way of promotions, and salary increase. Horrific tools to do your job. I'll probably have nightmares about gii for years to come. CRM is a joke. So much rubbish and duplications that end up in internal fights with other departments and countries over account ownership. If you're too lazy to clean up the CRM yourself, at least outsource it to someone who can!!! Managers and above not interested in helping you develop your career at all. Actually, this is unfair, there are a few gems in this company, but as a collective, the drive is just not there. No free coffee or tea (petty complaint, but come on.. this is standard in nearly every office in Dublin). Canteen is really... not great. Revolving door of graduates. They constantly hire them because they're a cheap source of labour. While the company's founder has listed what the companies Values are on the website, there's absolutely no sense of follow through with them. Nobody cares. The only time they come up as a vague topic is during the dreaded annual ethics exam. Winning with integrity?? Yeah right. I've seen countless salespeople act and win business in unscrupulous ways many MANY times in Dell.

Pros

- Money (Unlimited cap, lunches, spiffs) - Environment (Contests, playful environment, coworkers can be friends) -Big Company (Resources and career mobility) -Education (Strong marketable skillset despite where your next move is) I have been apart of three organizations, and I can say that Dell checks a lot of boxes. It is a great location, pay is very fair, and there is career growth so long as you hit your number and have good relationships with your peers and management. The skillset you develop will be very marketable (consultative selling, full-cycle closing, qualifying). This position will set you up for success, and you'll make a lot of money and have a lot of fun along the way.

Cons

-Detached leadership -Unethical sales practices are celebrated -Quotas are dependent on other people The middle management is dangerously political with an unclear vision that directly impacts the morale of the floor. Since I've worked there, the culture has deteriorated. Quotas can be determined by favoritism. They are overhiring and the quality of hires have been declining. Management turns a blind eye to unethical work practices, and are in many instances rewarded because of the number they're able to hit with shady tactics.
