Pros

Great pay Good work ethic (Things get done) Great discount

Cons

Waterside office is not for those who are neurodivergent or introverted Toxic culture - Meetings before 9am, after 5pm, over lunch period. Nobody takes a lunch. People work on holiday. Expectation to deliver no matter the circumstance Hierarchal structure. So much red tape to get through Death by meetings. Meetings about meetings to prep for meetings Poor data systems and quality

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to share share your feedback with us. Whilst it is great to hear that you enjoy the benefits that we have to offer for our colleagues, it is disheartening to hear the cons you have provided. We’d recommend that you discuss your concerns with your Line Manager, or if you feel you cannot approach your Line Manager, then tell a more senior person or someone who you feel most at ease with, for example your BIG rep or your HR Business Partner. Similarly, we'll make sure your comments are fed back. Marks & Spencer.

Pros

I genuinely can't think of any.

Cons

I had the worst three years of my retail career in M&S. I worked in 3 different stores, as they like to move you around, and bar the 8 weeks in the last one (by which time I had lost all faith in the company), I had such a horrible experience. The management team talked the talk, gossiped about each other behind their backs, and their sense of entitlement blew my mind. Many of them would treat me so badly and I just did not fit the profile they wanted; I actually wanted to know my staff and focus on other things than reports and KPIs and "looking good". When I tell people I worked for M&S, they often respond with, "Oh that must be a lovely place to work!"...they could not be more wrong! A number of other people I know who worked for them too have the same opinion. AVOID!
