Pros

Great products, great technology, great people. Good pay, and good educational benefits. 401k matches plus the company retirement saving account (stay at least 3 years), multiple health insurance plan to choose from, etc. Manager is great to work with, very understanding, easy to talk to. For a large company, within a program, the structure is fairly flat, at least in the Aerospace Sector.

Cons

At upper middle management levels, unclear what the career track is. Some programs take an inordinate amount of dedication and time (hard to balance work), while others are simpler. Not easy to change projects.

Pros

They are very competitive in the DoD market and look out for their employees. Compensation and Benefits are above the norm.

Cons

Defense contracting leads to a very unstable outlook in future years. Your only as stable as the contract your on and the one you need to be bringing in to ensure your longevity.

Pros

Benefits are similar to the industry norm; retirement package available to overhead staff only. Contract personnel are limited to growing contract vehicle and or bridges between vehicles.

Cons

lack of senior management support for Program Manager. Too many demands from senior management to produce core metrics, stoplights and past performance. Equates to limited support to the Client. Lack of Growth opportunities. All growth self-generated.
