Pros

Large contract prime, average benefits, recognized industry name (although it does not seem to carry weight anymore)

Cons

Avoid Roy, UT and Huntsville, AL at all costs. The program is constantly behind schedule which means managers burn and grind people to the bone in order to meet impossible deadlines. Bait and switch job descriptions and interviews. Retail stores and McDonalds have better retention than this program. Most people quit the company or move to another program in 12-14 months. There is no continuity on the teams, morale is terrible, documentation is a mess and the environment is extremely toxic because everyone is quitting, fighting to get out of the program, or advance to a position where they can push work onto other people. Favoritism is awful and you will not get recognized as they burn you out. There is no leadership anywhere on the program. Do not apply for anything Sentinel related.

Pros

Most positions are on a 9/80 schedule, which will give you every other Friday off in exchange for an extra hour Mon-Thurs. Everyone is allowed to express their opinions. Highly, highly ethical organization (may be a result of DCMA auditors always being around, but whatever the reason, if you have integrity, this is the place for you). You often get to work on things you only get to read about. Great work/life balance overall... occasionally a project may temporarily disrupt this, but even then, in at least some instances the company will provide straight overtime even though you are salaried.

Cons

HR is the biggest issue here. They take the job requisitions very literally, and so you often have people who are only qualified on paper in a role they have no business being in, while talent has to sit around until they have enough years to qualify for a given role. Merit based bonuses for lower level staff are extremely difficult to get, although surprisingly high (for non-sales folks) if you do.

Pros

Average benefits that are not worth the terrible management

Cons

The absolute worst management I have ever witnessed. Rampant bullying and harassment. Micromanagement. You are set up for failure. As the program (Sentinel) continues to fail, management keeps burning people out. No growth, no promotions, constant weekly turnover. Do not apply for anything that says Sentinel!
