Worst leadership I've ever seen

Pros

Most employees have said that they don't feel micro-managed. The benefits are also decent for those employees who work out of the HQ (Cary, NC) office.

Cons

Senior leadership, from the CEO on down, is socially inept, to put it nicely. There is an elitist mentality in which the executives don't view the "common laborer" (i.e. anyone who isn't an exec) as being able to approach them. At internal awards ceremonies and even annual President's Club trips, you'll see the execs keeping to their own tables and essentially shunning anyone who attempts to socialize with them. Talk about having zero interest in knowing the pulse of your company, not to mention the lack of appreciation for the people who work so hard to line your pockets. Strategically, the company doesn't look beyond 1-2 quarters, which reflects in some of the acquisitions they've made, of late. In the past, I've had CEOs who may not be the best leaders, but who make up for that by surrounding themselves with people who have different strengths and by staying connected to the employees who are "in the trenches". I've also had CEO's who are great visionaries but who don't excel in social situations...although they still make an effort. At Sciquest, however, you have a leadership team who lacks vision, social and leadership skills, and who appears to have no interest in changing any of this. I would recommend that you turn and run the other way if Sciquest comes calling.

Once a great company...

Pros

I worked at SciQuest (now Jaggaer), before the mass layoffs. The people I worked with were incredible. It was a pleasure coming in to work every day. It was a very relaxed environment to work in. Flexible hours and work from home days were also a huge plus. Everyone was willing and eager to help one another. The teamwork aspect was top-notch.

Cons

After SciQuest was acquired by Accel-KKR, the now former CEO called a meeting with the entire company. People were concerned for their jobs, and rightfully so. We were told that we'd barely notice any changes in the company, and he adamantly stated that no one was in danger of losing their job. He stressed this point 3 or 4 times. Sadly, within about a month, they began laying people off one department at a time. Needless to say, employee morale was extremely low for the next 4-6 weeks, as people were just waiting around to see if they would be the next one on the chopping block. Definitely not a good experience. And the lack of transparency from the new C-level executives was disrespectful and lacked any integrity. It wasn't long before the few people that were retained began to jump ship, one after the other. I wouldn't recommend Jaggaer if you're looking for stability and career development. The future of the company is uncertain.

Pros

To echo a later post, “paycheck every two weeks.” I can’t fill a 20 word minimum. So just keep reading.

Cons

NEVER take a job from this company. After you get hired on you will go through so much, and, if you are a hard worker, be promised advancement and opportunity; monetary or title change. It doesn’t happen. I firmly believe Accel-KKR cuts out middle management and functions/makes a profit on hiring inexperienced people, or contractors, who they work to the bone with little guidance and then those people either wise up and quit when it’s clear there’s no rainbow with a pot of gold at the end of the storm, or are senselessly cut. God knows Jaggaer software isn’t selling and/or worth buying. Moral of the story, don’t waste your time. The positive reviews on here are either A.) new people whose bosses asked them to post, or B.) seasoned workers whose bosses asked them to post and they’re hoping for a promotion. Additionally, notice there aren’t any HR responses to these negative reviews. HR is not your friend, and while most of the turmoil isn’t directly their fault....HR is supposed to step in when things are corrupt. They don’t. Truly, don’t waste possibly years of your life on this place. Everyone here is looking for other jobs anyways. Also, just a tip to the idiotic executive team: deciding to change the nomenclature of (falsely) “the world’s largest independent spend management company” to a name no one can pronounce is neither memorable nor wise. Trust me, people just keep asking how to pronounce it after you’ve told them multiple times. You ironically rebranded the company to be obsolete.
