Pros

Fun culture (lots of parties, drinking. You feel like living the high-life) and always hustling culture (no closing dinner/ activities until everyone in the team hit the quota) Intensive trainings offering to fresh graduates / someone new to sales job Fast track career progression if you exceed quotas every month Acquired a lot of companies to empower the product offerings Invest significant amount of money in R & D

Cons

Poor management team - 90% of management are internal hires who started their first full time job as entry level sales and were promoted to be people manager based on their sales results but not their management skills as they should be. What this means is that they only know ONE way to do sales and manage people, you are not allowed to challenge the status quo because they are very proud of its proven selling method. They lead people in the wrong direction and micro managed at its finest. They don't know how to give you direction and inspire you to think from a bigger picture - Management team focus on your numbers but not you as a person, their communication is disingenuous Poor compensation package - long working hours (your client message you after 7pm is very normal and you are expected to reply them) and you don't receive OT pay - the insurance plan is suck, eg. outpatient cost per attendance is less than 200HKD... - everyone is entitled to have 20 days paid time off but you are not allowed to take day off in Dec and monthly closing week even you hit the personal sales target. - very commission-heavy pay structure means you would suffer financially and then mentally when you are at the ramp up period and you miss out on targets, eg. sleep issues, feelings of anxiety and fear, burnout, anger...etc. Clique & Ruthless Culture - The management team don't usually socialize outside their group, they expect you to do tons of things to prove your values and gain their trust. If your preference isn't to be part of the "club", you will be made to feel isolated/forced to fit in. - You often feel discouraged to think outside the box or suggest new ideas because the management team don't want to rock the boat or be different - Ruthless attitude to dismissal and incredibly high turnover of staff

Pros

- Managing directors (who functions more like a team leader) spends a lot of time giving guidance but at the same time micro-manages the team. - Team buildings and there is dinners/parties at every month closing depending on how well the team did in the month. Places are usually hip and trendy places or new bars/restaurants. - Work life balance. Most people do not stay in the office beyond 7+pm. But you can choose to work beyond that if you want. - Strong culture and friendly people. Everyone just wants to have fun.

Cons

- Micro-managing. Strict lunch hours. - Immature management team (not just the managing directors, but the area directors and even the CEO as well) - Slow growth company even though there are supposed to be a lot of opportunities in this industry.

Pros

If you want to be a frat bro or sorority sis post-collegiate years.....

Cons

CEO is a salesman and passive-aggressive control freak. If you disagree with him, he doesn't have the guts to listen or respect other opinions, but will passive-aggressively ostracize and eventually remove any senior leaders who dare have a different perspective. If you read his book, it shows how little he knows about what other departments do in his company, except for his glorified Sales department. Young, impressionable hires are brought into the sales cult because they haven't seen the world yet, while the rest of the company receives little respect. The sales execs get paid almost half a million a year for being spoiled brats who don't believe rules are for them and expect every department to work for them exclusively. When awards are given to the sales force in front of the company, it is evident that the low sales quota hurdles are a joke. Salespeople drink into the wee hours at expensive venues offsite and mingle with professionals the next morning while disheveled and hung over. It's basically a fraternity/sorority atmosphere. When in the office, loud music is played on the speakers and most of the young salesforce have not learned common courtesy to make eye-contact and acknowledge other people's existence including senior management. Ostracizing is a common tactic for those who don't "fit into the corporate culture". It is an engrained practice throughout the company, not just in Sales, and proliferated by senior leaders. The promise of an IPO has been sold to employees for several years, but it's doubtful if the CEO wants to relinquish control of his company. They have a long path to growing up before an IPO can even be realistic. Rather than being honest to employees, the IPO carrot is still dangled in front of young, impressionable people. More seasoned professionals who do not work in Sales can see this transparency, but no one cares nor appreciates non-sales at this company.
